ASCENT: STRATEGIES FOR NAVIGATING GRADUATE SCHOOL FROM START TO FINISH

I offer personalized support for undergraduates and other individuals who are interested in pursuing graduate study in the social sciences. For applicants working with me, I can help you craft an individualized plan for choosing the right programs and amplifying your voice in personal statements and cover letters. For those already in graduate programs who desire more support than they currently receive, I create and maintain safe space for you to generate personalized strategies for navigating professional conferences or expanding your professional network, to choose appropriate postdocs, and to showcase your unique mix of skills, strengths, and experience for academic and non-academic career opportunities. You don’t have to do this alone.

CONGREGATIONAL EMPowerment & EDUCATION

My experiential and empirical background in faith communities drives my deep commitment to partner with churches, regardless of denominational affiliation, to cultivate spaces of spiritual growth, safety, equity, and thriving for diverse youth, emerging adults, and adults. I also consult with pastors and other clergy to consider new approaches to increasing prayer and prayer education within their communities. Workshops I offer include: “Young, Black, & Spiritually Gifted,” “Havens and Harbors: Steps to Address Prejudice,” “Faith and Mental Health,” and “Connecting with Young Adults: What We Know Now and How We Can Do Better.” If you would like to talk about a customized workshop or session for your community, we can put a meeting on the calendar.
